Kat Von D is closing her iconic Hollywood tattoo store and relocating to Indiana for good.
On Tuesday, October 26, the tattoo artist-turned-musician revealed she was closing her “beloved” High Voltage tattoo store in Los Angeles. Ink fans will recall the shop featured on the TLC show for seven seasons starting in 2007, after Von D left. Miami ink due to a dispute between the actors.
âAs some of you know, we recently bought a nice house on a piece of land in rural Indiana, and the more time we spend there the more we realize we feel more at home there. down here in LA, âshe wrote on Instagram.
The store will close permanently on December 1 and the team will be celebrating the âHvT Legacyâ by tattooing regularly until it closes. Appointments are made quickly, so plan quickly if you’re interested in having a part made by the High Voltage Artists before it closes permanently.
Von D has indicated that she will be moving “permanently” to Indiana by the end of 2021 and that she also plans to sell her Los Angeles home.
But will Kat Von D tattoo again? Fortunately, the artist has revealed that she will most likely open a new private tattoo studio after completing her home renovation in Indiana.
Over the years, Von D has worked with a celebrity clientele including BeyoncÃ©, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Dakota Fanning, John Mayer, Eminem, Rihanna, and Ewan McGregor. She even tattooed Lil Wayne’s face. Most of his tattoo work took place at his location in West Hollywood.
Kat Von D married Leafar Seyer, a member of the prayer group, in February 2018. They welcomed a child, Leafar Von D Reyes, in December of the same year.
In addition to his new musical career, Von D has also dabbled in architecture and home restoration in recent years.
“I’m a huge architecture junkie, especially Victorian architecture,” she said. Stage secrets earlier this year. “The house we have here in Los Angeles was built in 1890 and I’ve spent the last six years basically restoring it.”
