Things to eat and avoid for a month

A tattoo is a form of body modification where a design is made by inserting ink, dyes, and pigments into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment. The art of getting a tattoo is known as tattooing. Tattoos fall into three broad categories and they are symbolic, pictorial and purely decorative. Following up on tattoos requires a regimen that should be maintained for at least a month to speed up the healing process. Here are some things you should include and exclude from your diet to maintain your tattoos.

What not to eat?

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Ready-to-use sodas and juices

  • Instant noodles, frozen meals, ice cream

  • Fried foods like fast food, French fries, etc.

  • Processed meats like ham, sausages, bacon, salami

  • Sweets, filled cookies, cakes, pastries, chocolates

Unhealthy foods that contain refined oils, sugars, salt, and hydrogenated fats are a big no and should be ruled out immediately after tattooing. Including the foods mentioned above in your diet will increase inflammation and also hamper the healing process of the skin. Food can also lead to other health problems like high cholesterol and headaches. Ideally, the foods mentioned above should not be included in a person’s diet for at least a month after tattooing.
