The Latest Instagram Trend: Applying Temporary Tattoos To Your Eyes And Lips

Just because you’re an adult adult paying your bills and your own taxes doesn’t mean you have to ditch temporary tattoos. In fact, makeup artists on Instagram are making a pretty compelling argument for bringing back the childhood birthday party staple. They incorporated temporary tattoos into their makeup and covered them with a high gloss sheer sheen to enhance the look. Not only is the result superb, temporary tattoos are the perfect lip art or bold eye makeup.

If you aren’t particularly coordinated with your liquid liner, temporary tattoos are actually the perfect shortcut for adding graphic detail to your look. You don’t have to worry about drawing your best flowers or geometric shapes just to smudge them the second you’re done – these teenage temporary tattoos deliver crisp designs every time.

Violent Lips mini lip tattoos, specially designed to be placed on your pout, are the most used on Instagram. For $ 10, you get 100 tiny tattoos in fun shapes like emojis and cupcakes. However, Giselle Ali, a professional makeup artist based in London, recently used a leaf of random roses that she found on Amazon for a few dollars. “But if you want to push the boat, has some really unique designs,” she says. Seduce. We also like the selection of Tattly, because it combines pretty fragrances and super ornate images.

After choosing your temporary tattoo, you need to decide where to put it: on your eyelid or lips. (Ali also placed them on blocked eyebrows.) If you go for your lips, Ali recommends that you apply matte liquid lipstick as a base. “It’s important to use a lipstick that will dry the matte, because the transfer will require an oil-free surface to adhere to,” she says. If you are looking for a nude lip look, you can use MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Lady Be Good like Ali did, which was the perfect MLBB shade.

However, you can also create an ombre look. A makeup artist who goes by Noirojos on Instagram combined Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid lipsticks in Outlaw (a brick red) and Ludwig (a fawn) to create this look.

For this look, she used a matte black from Black Moon Cosmetics.

Once the liquid lipstick is completely dry to the touch, place the temporary tattoo in the desired location. (Noirojos decided to focus on the part of her lips where the lipstick was the lightest.) Next, wet the paper backing of the tattoo. (Ali likes to use a sponge to completely saturate the paper.) However, Noirojos recommends a wet brush. After 30 seconds, you can remove yourself from the paper support. Then you can go on with your day, but the gloss adds some dimension to the look. “I added a transparent gloss on top because the tattoo transfer has a glossy, transparent film and my colors were matte,” says Noirojos.
