People love to talk about their tattoos, whether it’s an important date engraved on their chest or an inspirational quote written on their arm.

For example, there is 4.4 million members of the tattoo subreddit, making it one of the most popular topics on the platform. This importance bodes well for the founders of Mad Rabbit, a post-tattoo care brand that makes balms to heal and revive people’s most prized body art. Two college friends, Oliver Zak and Selom Agbitor, founded the company in 2019 as a side business while attending the University of Miami.

They continued to develop the brand while taking postgraduate positions before focusing on the business full time. Zak, 24, is bi-coastal in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, while Agbitor, 25, is in Dallas. They launched two products this year and plan to release a few more before the end of the year.

Zak and Agbitor have tapped into a large community of tattoo enthusiasts to raise a A round of funding of $ 2 million in July, which included investments from Mark Cuban and NFL star Stefon Diggs.

“Subcultures contain tattoo cultures,” Zak told Insider. “Mad Rabbit is really the brand that brings these people together.”
