Bolton: A tattoo artist finally makes the leap to open a studio

A tattoo artist finally takes the plunge and opens a tattoo studio in Bolton after 10 years in the industry.

Ryan Wild has always dreamed of having his own business, but wanted to deepen his knowledge and experience before making the big decision.

Part of the reason Ryan waited was because of the uncertainty and change in the way people search for tattoo artists on social media, rather than before where clients would physically go on the prowl.

He hopes his digital-first approach will help the company thrive in a tough market.

Ryan, who will be the owner of Wild Tattoo Company, added: “I’m super excited.

“Opening my own studio was always the plan.

“I feel like I’ve waited, really thought about everything, and learned a lot from working at other studios over the years.

“Now I think I finally have enough knowledge to build something that stands out, something better for artists and customers.”

His studio will provide a comfortable environment, where customers can play X-box while they wait, including a free drink to keep you well hydrated.

Tattoo fans could also benefit from a discount code on their birthday.

Ryan will use a digital calendar system where each customer gets their own profile, which means reminders for your appointments, follow-up instructions and notifications about discounted parts and cancellation slots will be sent.

Ryan added: “In my 10 years of tattooing, I have noticed a significant drop in the number of customers walking down the street, as well as a huge increase in the social presence of tattoo studios.

“Unfortunately people are no longer just looking for a tattoo artist, they scour the internet for ideas and then scour social media for an artist.

“I think with my new business, I should play it and try to take the necessary steps to stay ahead online.”

Ryan’s studio will open in July at 22 Chorley New Road, BL1 4AP.

Ryan and Rudy Foy will be the first artists to start, with space for three other residential artists and a space reserved for guest artists.
